The national hand hygiene benchmark is set by the Australian Health Ministers' Advisory Council (AHMAC). For 2017 onwards the benchmark has been set to 80%.

HHA endeavour to run a workshop prior to the Australasian College for Infection Prevention and Control (ACIPC) conference each year. The next workshop date is still to be confirmed, however the ACIPC conference dates are 19 - 21 November 2018.
